Rather than throwing things away, bring them to us to be fixed, resold or recycled.

We are a centrally-located community recycling and resource recovery centre supporting local resilience and regeneration.

Te Aro Zero Waste is a new partnership between the Wellington City Council and Sustainability Trust. With an accessible central city location, our mission is to provide more households, businesses and organisations with services that support their efforts to reduce waste.

Based in the Sustainability Trust building on Forresters Lane, Te Aro Zero Waste is a welcoming space people can go to learn about waste minimisation and access recycling, repair and reuse services.

How we are funded

Funding is being provided through Wellington City Council from the waste minimisation component of landfill revenue. This is money set aside from gate fees specifically to help reduce waste in Wellington City.

Our partnership model

Te Aro Zero Waste is a joint venture between Sustainability Trust and the Wellington City Council, with support from The Tip Shop
