Wool reuse

Te Aro Zero Waste is a central city drop-off point for Crafting Threads of Aroha.

We’re excited to be a partner with our friends at Crafting Threads of Aroha, collecting unwanted wool to support people in need.

Got unwanted balls of wool? Drop them off to us.

What we can take for Crafting Threads of Aroha:

✔️ Balls of wool/yarn of any colour, ply, and fibre (wool, acrylic, cotton, etc).

✔️ Any size, unused or partially used.

What we can’t take:

❌ Anything damp, dirty, or tangled.

What is Crafting Threads of Aroha?

Crafting Threads of Aroha is a community of volunteer crafters donating hand-crafted items to charities and other organisations supporting people in need. They are 100% volunteer-based, and are all about individuals helping their community one stitch at a time.

What is this reuse programme?

Crafting Threads of Aroha takes donations of fabric and yarn and shares them amongst their awesome crafters, especially those that are financially restricted but who still want to do their part for their community.

If you are a crafter that is keen to join a network of like-minded people, you can join their Facebook group.
