Every year the Wellington Curtain Bank cuts, lines and sews thousands of pairs of curtains for hundreds of families in need across the region. We create warm healthy homes, and we’d love your support to ensure we can continue helping Kiwis in need across Wellington.
Since 2010 over 17,500 pairs of curtains have gone out to over 4,800 families. Properly fitted lined curtains can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 60%, which helps keep families warmer, healthy and can reduce their power bills.
The Curtain Bank has two members of staff, supported by an incredible team of volunteers. Together, we have kept over 78 tonnes of material waste out of landfill and over 93 tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere.

RepairED is a programme that aims to increase access to repair, rebuild local resilience and strengthen community connection and self-sufficiency.
We provide opportunities for people of all ages & abilities to build their repair confidence through practical upskilling, increasing understanding of their consumer rights, and by establishing new social connections. We gather, mend, connect and engage in the circular economy.
