LED lighting

Want warmer, safer lighting? LEDs use up to 85% less energy than standard incandescent light bulbs for the same light output—installing LED downlights can mean a significant saving for families around NZ.

Benefits

• Low running costs

• Long-lasting

• More efficient

Why LEDs?

Most recessed downlights installed before 2012 allow draughts in, and get so hot that they require gaps in the insulation around them to reduce the risk of fire. This means that heat and energy leak out. Incandescent and halogen bulbs are also inefficient and expensive to run.

Certain LED downlights are safe to insulate over. This means your ceiling insulation can be gap-free, and do a better job.

LED downlights last for up to 25 years, and are available in a range of cutout sizes, light colours, brightnesses and beam angles.

What we offer

Our licensed electricians and insulation installers can assess, supply, and install new fittings and LED lights to suit your whare. We can also check and top up your existing insulation, reducing gaps and keeping your whole house warmer and cheaper to run.

There are a wide range of LED bulbs available, which should be considered depending on the requirement for the room. For example, consider the light colour (brighter for bathrooms, warmer for living areas), whether they are dimmable, and beam angles when making your decision.
