Why LEDs?
Unfortunately, most recessed downlights installed before 2012 allow draughts to flow into your living space. Once illuminated, they also heat up, which means that gaps in ceiling insulation are required around them to reduce the risk of fire. This means that more heat and energy leaks out. Incandescent and halogen bulbs are also inefficient and more expensive to run, adding precious dollars to your power bill.
Certain LED downlights are snug to the ceiling and safe to insulate over, as they do not produce enough heat to be considered a fire risk. This means your ceiling insulation can be gap-free, and do a better job.
LED downlights last for up to 25 years, and are available in a range of cutout sizes, light colours, brightnesses and beam angles.

Our trained home performance assessors can assess for our electricians to supply and install LED lights to suit your home. While they’re up in your ceiling, they can also check your existing insulation and see if it needs a top-up or any gaps filled.
