Ventilation
Is your home feeling damp?
Ventilation is a key tool to remove damp air, replacing it with fresh air for a warm, dry home year-round. Excess moisture in the home can lead to condensation on windows and wills, which also feeds mould growth. It can also lead to increased power bills, as damp air is harder to heat than dry air, so your heater works overtime.
If you’re looking to solve this problem with mechanical ventilation solutions, we have a range of options to suit every household.
Why ventilate your home?
Census data shows that 18% of homes experience dampness at least some of the time.
Ventilating your home replaces stale, damp inside air with fresh, dry outside air. Everyday activities like cooking, showering, and even breathing add significant moisture to the air. Without ventilation, this moisture creates condensation, which leads to mould growth and unhealthy conditions.
A dry house is also easier to heat—dry air requires less energy to warm up, so good ventilation means you're getting more warmth for less cost.
Active ventilation systems give you consistent, reliable airflow without relying on open windows – particularly on cold winter days. At minimum, extractor fans are essential for bathrooms and kitchens where extra moisture is generated (and mandated if you own or live in a rental). If you want a whole-house solution that keeps moisture levels down, a mechanical ventilation system quietly handles everything in the background – keeping your home fresh, dry, and healthy year-round.
Ventilation services we offer
We offer a variety of ventilation solutions, from kitchen rangehoods to whole-home heating and ventilation systems. Whether you’re looking for a standalone fan or full ventilation installation, our team of assessors will help you find the right solution for your home and lifestyle.
Exhaust fans
Exhaust fans are the first step for ventilating, stopping moisture at the source. Extractor fans in your kitchen and bathroom remove damp air created from cooking and showering.
Positive pressure systems
Positive pressure/forced air ventilation systems work by blowing drier air into your house from the roof cavity, pushing stale air out. These systems are not suitable for airtight houses.
Balanced pressure systems
Balanced pressure systems bring dry outdoor air in through vents, while removing stale indoor air. An air-to-air heat exchanger transfers heat from the inside air to the incoming fresh air, reducing your space heating bill.
