COVID-19: Update on our services
Update on COVID-19: Wednesday 12 August.
By now, you will have heard the news that Wellington will move to Alert Level 2 at Midday on Wednesday, 12 August.
For now, our services will continue as normal which means remaining vigilant, playing it safe and following all health and safety procedures (including safe social distancing).

All home assessments & installs of heat pumps, central heating, insulation and ventilation to resume as normal
We will continue with all bookings for home assessments and install jobs. This includes:
When we say that our assessments and installs are to continue as normal, this means, we will:
check-in with you at the time of making the appointment, 24 hours prior and on the day of the appointment
follow hygiene requirements while onsite, by wiping down with disinfectant any surfaces we may come into contact with
actively practice safe physical distancing and wear the appropriate PPE when required
follow all contact tracing guidelines.
In addition to this, all Trust staff will undertake a health check every morning prior to commencing work.
Ecoshop: Our Ecoshop reopens, click & collect / pick up available + 100% contact-free delivery of all products across Wellington region + nation-wide shipping to continue as normal.
Our Ecoshop will be open to the public - As the Prime Minister said, COVID loves congregations - this means there might be times when we might need you to wait in the Ecocentre while others shop.
This is so we can all abide by the two-metre distancing rule. We will also require you use hand sanitiser on entry and to scan in, this information will only be used for contact tracing.
Pick up / click & collect - If you place an order online, it will be ready for you to pick up after 24 hours. If you require it sooner, please phone our Ecoshop staff and let them know - 0508 78 78 24 ext 720.
When picking up your order, please tell us who the order is for and we will grab it for you. Please scan the QR code and use the hand sanitiser on entry.If you live outside of these areas, nation-wide delivery will continue as normal.
Ecocentre / recycling programmes / e-waste / curtain donations
All of our amazing recycling initiatives will continue as normal. All we ask is that you scan the QR code, practice safe distancing and use hand sanitiser on entry.
Oral care & stationery - drop off bins are towards the library as you walk in.
Plastic & metal lids - please make sure your lids are clean and dry before dropping them off.
E-waste recycling - please bring your e-waste to the front desk.
Car seat recycling - like e-waste recycling, please bring your old car seats to the front desk.
Bicycle recycling - bring your preloved bicycles to us. Park them out front of the Ecocentre and give the shop staff a wave to let them know that you’ve dropped them off.
Curtain donations - we desperately need donations of mould free curtains to upcycle into curtains for families in need. Please bring these into the Ecoshop where our staff will direct you on what to do next.
🌳 Wilderkids school holiday programme 🌳
At this stage, we are still going ahead with Wilderkids. Bookings will go live on Monday 24 August.
Wellington Curtain Bank orders
We will continue to process orders and make curtains as normal.
If we finish your order during Alert Level 2 and you live in Wellington City, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt / Hutt City and Porirua, we will personally drop your curtains off to you. 100% contact-free.
If you live outside of these areas, for example - Kapiti Coast to Otaki, we will courier your items out to you.

The YSW team is online and available; they are providing on-going support, and delivering the programme where possible, to clients. The team is also available to talk to any organisation interested in signing up or discussing where to start on sustainability.
