1. Insulation and heating subsidies for people who own the home they live in, via the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme:

Sustainability Trust can access large subsidies to help cover the supply and install cost of insulation, ground vapour barriers and heat pumps.

The programme is available to people who own the home they live in, for houses built before 2008. There are three separate ways to qualify:

· By holding a Community Services Cards or Gold Combo card

· Or by living in an area identified as lower income. We can check this for you

· Or by being referred through the Well Homes healthy homes programme, for low-income households with children

Warmer Kiwi Homes is funded by EECA, with additional funding as and when available from Hutt Mana Charitable Trust, Electra and Sustainability Trust. For more information on Community Services Card income cut-out points, head to Work and Income CSC cut-offs

2. Free lined curtains and curtain lining service The Wellington Curtain Bank gives free lined curtains to people that need them and have a Community Services Card, and pre-loved curtains can be donated to be given to families in need.

3. Free home assessments for homeowners Choose from the Warm, Dry Home Assessment or the in-depth Home Energy Saver Assessment (free to residents in Wellington City)
