Curtains can significantly reduce heat loss through windows.
However, the way curtains are hung, the materials used, the way they're used, all determines how effective they will be.
Are your curtains keeping your home warm? Or is cold air getting in? If you have a Community Services Card holder in your home we will upcycle pre-loved curtains specifically for your windows. All of our curtains are given an extra layer and are designed to keep warm air in and cold air out.
*** UPDATE - As at 30 July we can only provide four sets of curtains per household. If you have a child or older person living with you, we may be able to provide curtains for their bedrooms***
If you would prefer to fill out a form on paper, you can print the form from here.
Otherwise you just can apply online using the form below.
How it works:
- Businesses such as Lewis's, West Plaza Hotel, and Capital Gateway Motor Inn and members of the public donate their pre-loved curtains to us.
- The Curtain Bank upcycles these curtains, cutting and lining them so they are ready for their new home.
- This process usually takes around six weeks.
Every set of curtains is different. Our Curtain Bank aims to give people sets of curtains that match, but this is not always possible.
If you would like to donate your preloved curtains, please read this page for more info.
