Winter Container Planting Workshop

  • Sustainability Trust 2 Forresters Lane Wellington, Wellington, 6011 New Zealand (map)

Want to grow your own fresh kai but only have a balcony, patio, or courtyard? This hands-on workshop will show you how to grow seasonal vegetables + herbs using containers - a flexible, low-cost way to turn even the smallest spaces into productive food gardens. We’ll cover:

  • What to grow in winter: hardy greens, herbs & root veg

  • How to set up containers with good drainage & healthy soil (bokashi-friendly!)

  • Tips for supporting growth: sun, watering, pest protection

  • Harvesting & replanting to keep your containers productive

Please bring your own container(s) — buckets, storage bins, flexi tubs, or old drawers all welcome (we'll show you how to safely repurpose them).

🌱 Spring planting workshop will follow on Saturday 30th August. Bookings will become available for this mid-July.

Spaces are limited - book now and get growing this winter!

WCC Pilots Participants please arrive 10.30am for Bokashi composting review session.
