Announcement of new Chief Executive at Sustainability Trust

We’ve got a new Chief Executive!

The Board of Trustees of Sustainability Trust is very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive, Georgie Ferrari. Georgie will be taking over from outgoing CE Phil Squire. Phil will be stepping into a project manager role focussing on carbon and energy hardship and will assist in a smooth handover.

Georgie is currently Chief Executive at Wellington Community Trust, a position she has held for the past two and a half years. Her previous experience includes leading the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria for 14 years in Melbourne, and five years as programme manager for YWCA in Wellington and Hutt Valley.

Ms Ferrari brings a wealth of not-for-profit, funding, and project development experience to the Trust.  With her focus on delivering social and environmental outcomes for individuals and organisations across the region, she will provide strong leadership to advance the Trust’s impact in healthy housing and urban sustainability.

Georgie is delighted to be joining the Trust “The Sustainability Trust has such a great reputation.  I feel very honoured to be given the opportunity to build on that reputation and further enhance what is already a very strong organisation, offering great services and programmes across the region” she said.

Georgie will be based at the Trust’s HQ at Forresters Lane in central Wellington and leading a team of 3 programme managers and 50 staff in a range of technical, educational, and project delivery roles. She takes up the reins at the Trust on 22 January 2020.
