Bees

New Zealand bees do much more than supply us with honey. One third of everything we eat is pollinated by bees so it's very important we take care of them if we want to keep filling our bellies!

Advice on bee swarms: It can look a bit scary, but it's normal for bees to leave a hive en masse if it gets crowded and head out to find a new home. If you have a swarm a local beekeeper can round it up for you. More on Apiculture NZ.
