Repairing rather than buying new is a great way to take climate action in your own life – and learn new skills along the way.
Bring along 1-2 clothing or lightweight household items (cushion covers etc) for repair – all needles, thread, and sewing machines will be supplied. We will supply a selection of patches and buttons, but you are also welcome to bring your own if you have something specific in mind.
Our skilled volunteers will be here to assist you with fixes such as missing buttons, tears, holes, hemming, and basic alterations. There will also be a DIY table for those who are confident at sewing alone but may not have access to a machine at home.
These sessions will be held at Sustainability Trust on the first Saturday of every alternate month, from 1-4 pm.
Bookings are necessary - click below to reserve your spot!
The afternoon is split into three one hour sessions (1-2 pm, 2-3 pm, 3- 4 pm) with 10 spots in each - please arrive ON the hour of the session you book.
At times, there may be a small waiting time, we invite you to bring your favourite book, check out the Zero Waste Centre or meet a new friend while you enjoy some light refreshments.
These workshops are made possible thanks to funding from Wellington City Council, Nikau Foundation and support from Repair Café Aotearoa NZ and Repair Café International.
