Creative Mending Circle

Led by Stella Carruthers & Xin Cheng of ‘A Place for Local Making’

‘I am made and re-made continually.’ – Virginia Woolf

Join us for a restorative mending afternoon, and repair beloved garments with your own creative flair! We offer hands-on guidance on darning, patching and other visible mending techniques.

Bring your own mending, sewing or upcycling project.

Make use of the sewing machines and craft supplies we have for sharing, including fabric scraps and clothing intercepted from the waste streams. A treasured collection of books on mending and resilient textiles will also be available for inspiration.

Free event, koha will be appreciated.

This event is made possible thanks to funding from Wellington City Council, and generous support from Sustainability Trust, Repair Café Aotearoa NZ, Repair Café International and the SPCA Op Shop Lower Hutt.
