Open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm.
When closed, Te Aro Zero Waste have collection containers outside for metal and plastic lids, alongside non-lid plastic #2 and #5.

Tip Shop collection
The Tip Shop regularly has collection days at Te Aro Zero Waste. Collection days will be posted in our events . The Tip Shop team collect any big, bulky, awkward and other forgotten reusable items. They take furniture, building and gardening materials, books, and bric-a-brac.

Te Aro Zero Waste does not accept kerbside recycling, clothes, or other items covered by op shops e.g. linen, books, toys. Aluminium can recycling

E-Waste recycling
Drop off your e-waste to Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4. The centres takes everything from TVs, stereos, heaters, phones, cellphones, batteries, small appliances.
Battery recycling
Drop off your batteries to Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4. The centres takes domestic and commercial regular batteries, as well as laptop and power tool batteries.
Curtain reuse
The Wellington Curtain Bank upcycles pre-loved curtains for those who need them. Drop your mould free pre-loved curtains off to us.
Plastic & metal lid recycling
Drop off your lids to Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4. Te Aro Zero Waste is a central city drop-off for all metal bottle caps, lids for glass jars and plastic lids.
Metal recycling
Te Aro Zero Waste is a central city drop off for small to medium-sized metal items. If it fits in a reusable shopping bag, you can bring it into us. Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4.
Food & beverage carton recycling scheme
Drop off your food & beverage cartons to Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4. The centres takes clean, flat cartons.
Tool donation
Give your power, hand or gardening tools a second life. Te Aro Zero Waste will accept any kind of electrical or hand tool whatever the condition for free. Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, open Wed to Sat, 10 to 4.
FillGood reuse return
Return FillGood cups & food trays to Te Aro Zero Waste, 2 Forresters Lane, Wed to Sat, 10-4. FillGood pops up at events & venues. If you accidentally took an item home, return them so they can be used at the next event.
