Education Sessions for Schools & Community Groups

From hands-on workshops to empowering learning sessions about zero waste and behaviour change, get your group fired up about sustainability with our interactive sessions.

Our sessions are competitively priced and held in our award-winning central city EcoCentre.

For schools:

Our Stuff, Our Waste

Our world, our waste is a workshop designed to get students thinking and talking about the things we buy every day and where it ends up. They will look at the lifecycle of a product and investigate what went into making it.

Read more about the workshop.

Be Wise and Energise

Be wise and energise is a workshop where students explore the concept of energy and the various forms in which it exists. We will look at the ways it is produced, how it is used and how it can be saved.

Junior Home Assessors

Prepare your class before they visit our EcoCentre and earn their Junior Home Assessor credentials. As new Junior Home Assessors, your students will be able to carry on their learning both in the classroom and at home!

Beeswax Wrap Workshop

Our beeswax wrap workshop is all about teaching tamariki about the waste through their lunchbox. Kids will make their very own beeswax wrap to take home and contribute to their litterbox lunches.

Resources

Recycling Signage

It's no secret that recycling is complex. What goes in which bin? What plastic numbers are recyclable? What can't be recycled at all?

Clear signage is a great tool to help people separate waste into the correct waste streams. Our NZ standardised colour bilingual signs for recycling, organic waste and landfill waste have clear icons to make it easy.

Email us at advice@sustaintrust.org.nz for a pdf resource of all our signage for different waste streams.
