Fruit Tree Guardians

Trees fruit best with a great guardian. The Fruit Tree Guardian volunteer programme gets communities working together to bring healthy fruit trees to local neighbourhoods. 

Sustainability Trust delivers the programme in partnership with Wellington City Council. 

Each year we open applications for Fruit Tree Guardians who have a good spot for a tree, are able to commit to taking care of the tree for at least five years, and have a couple of people to help them. 

We source the trees, and then teach Guardians how to take care of them.
