Partnerships for action and change

Partnerships for action and change

Sustainability is not something that can be achieved in isolation. We help and support, and need the help and support of other like-minded organisations.

Not only does this give us strength in numbers, but also gives us strength in knowledge.

Here are some of the current partners we work with for action and change.

Partnerships to create national change:

  • Zero Waste Network - being part of ZWN means we work with others on zero waste; advocating for a truly circular economy, where resources are made to be used again and again and, ultimately, there is no waste.

  • Environmental Hubs Aotearoa – this partnership allows us to share our vast experience with each other and better empower more New Zealanders to create a thriving and sustainable Aotearoa.

  • Community Energy Network – being part of CEN means we get to advocate for community energy and healthy homes programmes at a national level. Our collaborations and information sharing with members around the country strengthens our ability to work effectively at a local level.

  • Kaicycle – as a way to give back, we are sometimes able to offer up our spaces to like-minded organisations for free.

  • Waste Free Welly – we’ve partnered up to form collaborative platform for organisations and individuals to progress the vision of zero waste in the city.

  • Wellington Regional Healthy Housing Group - we’re a member of the WRHHG, a network of organisations on a mission to make sure everyone in the Wellington Region lives in warm, dry and safe housing by 2025.

  • Usedfully - we support their national textile product stewardship work. We do this by sharing what we’ve learnt through the Curtain Bank and by supporting the development of systems to keep textiles out of landfill.

Partnerships with shared values:

Partnerships for mutual benefit:

  • Little Yellow Bird – through this partnership LYB collect sheets for our Curtain Bank to use for lining. We’re also working with them to trial a fabric recycling service.

  • Alsco – our friends at Alsco donate used sheets to our Curtain Bank which are then used to line curtains.
