What is Crafting Threads of Aroha?
Crafting Threads of Aroha is a Charitable group that connects people who knit, crochet and sew for charity, to the charities that need products. They are a 100% volunteer-based organisation, and are all about individuals helping their community one stitch at a time.
What is this reuse programme?
Crafting Threads of Aroha takes donations of fabric and yarn and shares them amongst their awesome crafters, especially those that are financially restricted but who still want to do their part for their community.
How this fits in with our sustainability ethos?
Crafting Threads of Aroha is based on a supply and demand model, which means they only create goods when they have stock. This means they don’t buy rolls of fabric or balls of yarn, they wait for someone else to donate them. Then they donate their products to the community- win win! We totally love and support what they’re doing.
