Curtain Bank logoWellington Curtain Bank has now closed for the 2011 summer season. It will reopen for clients in March/April 2012.

Donations of curtains can still be dropped off over summer at Sustainability Trust’s offices, at 8a Horner Street, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Wellington Curtain Bank provides free curtains for your home’s main living area. If you or someone in your household has housing related medical issues, we may be able to provide curtains for your bedrooms as well.

The Curtain Bank can only provide free curtains for Community Service Card holders.

How to Get Curtains

  • Make an appointment with Erika, the Curtain Bank Coordinator.
  • Bring your Community Services Card and completed form to your appointment with you.

    • At your appointment, we will help you choose the best curtains for your home including hooks, and rails if possible.

    Consultations

    Our Insulation and Heating team has installed Energywise compliant insulation in 5200 homes and low emission heating in 800 homes since 2004. Code compliant insulation and clean heating are fundamental for warm, dry and healthy homes.
    Wellington Curtain Bank has provided 350 homes with 824 pairs and 26 single curtains since opening in mid 2010. Public donations of fabric are tailored, lined and individually fitted for low income homes with inadequate or no curtains.
    Advice Centre Wellington has provided 2903 free phone consultation and 172 home assessments. This figure does not include the 64 workshops and presentations delivered.
