Wellington Curtain Bank has now closed for the 2011-12 summer season. It will reopen for clients in March/April 2012.
Sustainability Trust appreciates and accepts donations of curtains and fabric all year and these can be dropped off at 8a Horner Street.
Sustainability Trust runs Wellington City’s only free curtain bank for low income households and people with housing related health issues.
Fitted, lined curtains provide as much insulation as double glazing. They are a simple way of improving a home’s ability to retain heat and keep occupants healthy.
Donate your Curtains and Fittings
Help us keep Wellington homes warm this winter by donating:
- Curtains
- Curtain rails, hooks and loops
- Suitable fabric (preferably in large quantities)
- Curtain lining
Donated curtains will be lined, measured, and installed in households on low incomes and for people with health issues related to cold housing.
